Except that History doesn't exist as such, some lofty, impersonal final arbiter that is above all individual humans. It is only the consensus of future people, who can look back with a more detached objectivity and irony, at least compared to those who were participants, or victims, or first-hand witnesses. History will not be the judge. Future people, with a better sense of history, will.
